Clicky Here

Diary of a Dying Mom is a blog I came across a while back on the page of a magazine. I noticed she hadn't blogged in some time...and found out why.

My love and prayers go out to her family. I encourage you to check it out.

Gone

I am leaving in about an hour to take a trip with Teresa to nor cal, Seattle, possibly Oregon, and back down to SB and then home to Riverside.

It was supposed to be Louisiana, but that's ok- my soul will make it back there- hopefully soon, like this summer. There's still a huge part of me that needs to get back in touch with La. and I don't feel that subsiding.

This week will be great. I can't wait to just go out with a friend, see some family I love so much along the way, and take the time to clear my mind from all of the build up at home. I'm loving life, but I definitely need to mull some things over, re prioritize, get my .... ducks in a row?, and come back with a clear mind.

Some fresh Pacific Northwest air, good music, and drive time will be the perfect additive to the mix.

Pray my car does well. Pray T and I don't kill each other (we won't, but still), and pay I come back in one piece. Usually I come back missing a few pieces but really, I'd like to stay clean this trip.

Conversations Across the Pacific

The time is now 4 p.m., on Guam. I'm in my room in Riverside, 11 p.m. Probably...a little later by the time I get this posted. I wanted to share a video Dave sent me a link to, that showcases a little of PIBC.

I am so excited to see where God is taking me. Looking back at the beginning, I would never have seen myself on Guam- but now, it's such a tangible plan in my life that I know God is going to prepare me for. In fact, He has begun already.

I've been asked about my lifestyle a lot lately. Just to recap on some of the changes I've made in the past few months, I'll go ahead and list them:

- Christmas 08, I moved out of my one bedroom condo into a room in Melissa's house to cut my living expenses by over 60%
- I gave away, donated, and sold over half of my clothes, furniture, possessions, and even my kitty.
- I haven't bought clothes, possessions, or furniture since then.
- I am making plans to see all of my family for some quality time before I leave. It's so hard for me to have them so far away, that Guam will be even more difficult. Now, I'm blessed with the opportunity to just drive or take a short flight out, but that will be changing.
- My idea of fun? Going on a hike. It's free and local. If I spend money on an activity- it better be darn well worth it, a bonding experience, or something of indulgence that I hardly ever get to do. I purely work for food, to pay the bills, and to make the necessary travels to see my mom, dad, and extended fam. Everything else is kind of on the back burner until...oh.... year 2011?

Unless of course you want to take me out! I'm ready and willing.

A little something for supporters:
I've managed my Guam finances amazingly. Receipts have been saved from every purchase toward fund raising, and every check coming in has been sent directly to PIBC. The cash received has been turned into a check, by me, and sent on its way as well. I write everything down, keep impeccable records, and have a lot of fun things in store. Half my room has been taken over by fund raising. Half of my blog has, too! Why can't the rest of my life be this way? Well, I always thought I was a better teacher than student. Anyway.... it's now 11:30 Pacific Standard Time. I'm still at it.

Thanks for checking in on me :)

Lots of love,
Jen

Support Letter

I have almost finished my support Letter. I cannot wait to start sending it out. Please pray for me so I can stay on task this week and God-focused. He has not been the focus of the past few weeks but I think a lot of that has been spiritual attack. All of my vices have been indulged in lately and I need to get out of that mindset and back to working on what I need to do!

Seattle

Seattle was great. I had a wonderful time with Tammy, Derryl, Liz, and Derek. The best thing about the long weekend was all of the relaxing we got to do. I read a book and a half (brand new books, too, not the ones I've half started). We went to visit the Fremont troll, which was something I haven't seen since I was seven. I'll let the pictures showcase my visit:
